Meet Our Artist
Boutros Al Maari (b. 1968, Damascus) is a Syrian painter, illustrator, and anthropologist living in Hamburg. He studied at Damascus University and later obtained a PhD in Paris. His paintings reimagine Damascus cafés, souks, and cultural icons, and have been exhibited widely in Europe and the Middle East.
